Still need to define 'Sexting'

This year, 15 definitions will be added to the Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary. Some of them are more than one word ('energy drink,' which clearly needed to be defined by someone other than the FDA)! Some of them only apply to Carly Rae Jepsen songs ('earworm')! Some of them come from Oprah ('aha moment'), while some are based on what your child is probably doing this very moment ('sexting')! Let's take a full look at the list of yet-to-be-defined words, shall we?

What a great way to dissect the world of 2012: so many pop-culture references (maybe next year Hope Springs will make it into the dictionary alongside "bucket list") as well as all those words that allude to the financial crisis. An unusually slow year for techies, but a huge one for lazy man-children who DJ in their parents' basement. With the exception of copernicium (a terrifying addition), this might be the most pop-centric year of the English language since 2001, when we added 'D'oh' to the Oxford English Dictionary.
