49 to 40 percent over Hillary Clinton
48 to 38 percent over Barack Obama
48 to 41 percent over John Edwards

By contrast, the Democrats all come out narrowly ahead of John McCain and miles ahead of Mitt Romney:

Clinton beats McCain 45 - 41 percent;
Clinton beats Romney 50 - 31 percent;
Obama beats McCain 43 - 41 percent;
Obama beats Romney 50 - 26 percent;
Edwards beats McCain 42 - 41 percent;
Edwards beats Romney 51 - 26 percent.
