Life imitates art after all. Former Whitney chairman Robert J. Hurst is following the cultural arbiter he once ruled from uptown to the High Line.

The former Goldman Sachs chairman and Crestview Partners head sold his apartment at 950 Fifth Avenue-steps from the museum-for $25 million in September. The sale of a coveted duplex in the seven-unit co-op prompted an outburst of optimism among brokers that mega-sales were back in style.

What's definitely fashionable these days is West Chelsea, where the Whitney is set to open a new branch. Mr. Hurst is parking himself at Annabelle Selldorf's "Sky Garage" at 200 Eleventh Avenue, listed with Douglas Elliman brokers Herve Senequier and Leonard Steinberg. His $14 million penthouse purchase was hidden behind an LLC named RJH Investment Partners.

Mr. Hurst, along with his statuesque socialite wife Soledad, once occupied a high perch among the cultural elite, But his arrival will disappoint the masses: He's grabbed the one of the last units on the market in the new condo development, where Kelsey Grammar and Lady Gaga were seen snooping. At least he'll be keeping company with Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, reportedly in contract for the other penthouse.

I wonder if Mort Zuckerman will be baking any pies to welcome his new neighbor at 950 Fifth Avenue, the exclusive seven-unit co-op he calls home. According to city records, the duplex on the eighth and ninth floors formerly belonging to Goldman Sachs veteran and former president of the Whitney Museum Robert Hurst, has sold for a clean $25 million, four million short of the original April listing price.

Mr. Hurst's wife, Soledad, did not appear on the deed. Listed by Brown Harris Stevens' Cathy Franklin, the 12-room duplex with sweeping views of Central Park was purchased by the appropriately titled, Park View Trust with a Harvey L. Armstrong listed as trustee.
