We reported this week that the Campaign Finance Board has taken an interest in the potential for “pay-to-play” on both sides of City Hall, with a particular eye on charities connected to city officials, first among them NYC2012.

So at their hearing on January 31, look out for Common Cause New York‘s Rachel Leon, who emails us that “[U]nless we are only going to elect candidates who are millionaires or billionaires, when we look at pay to play we should look at it from all vantage points.

“If the Mayor is going to aggressively look at ending pay-to-play, he should be willing to look in his own backyard as well as at the City Council, and provide sunshine to New Yorkers on who he is asking money from, how much they are giving to his projects, and if they do business with the city.” Dan’s Donations
