Mike took the mound at Bayside Little League‘s opening day as a right-handed hurler, but when surrounded by autograph-seeking kids, he was signing his name with his left hand. Hmmm.
One mayoral spokesman, who donned a jacket and tie for the occasion, explained Mike does nearly everything right-handed: pitch, bat and bowl. When asked if he golfed as a righty, we were told, “That’s not important.”
