As we’ve mentioned before, we don’t really think there’s anything wrong with recycling campaign slogans. There’s a limited number of slogans, and an apparently unlimited number of pols, so it seems inevitable.
And if you’re going to steal, why not steal from the best? It’s in that context that we saw a flier proclaiming, “Scott Stringer, A Reformer Who Gets Results.”
Why does that sound familiar?
Oh yes, we heard it in 2000 from the campaign of one George W. Bush.
Stringer spokesman Micah Lasher emails: “Scott is proud to be the first presidential candidate to use the slogan honestly.”
