Betsy Ducks a Debate

The race for Public Advocate is showing signs of turning into a real contest, but the incumbent, Betsy Gotbaum, is having none of it.

She’s refusing to debate her rivals, Norman Siegel and Andrew Rasiej, on Andrew Kirtzman‘s er, spirited, Sunday morning show, The Politicker is told.

UPDATE: Kirtzman emails: “After I extended an offer to host a public advocate’s debate on my show this or next weekend, Hank Sheinkopf declined, but said Betsy would be willing to debate in a few weeks. While that’s a vague assurance, no one from her camp ever told me she wouldn’t debate at all.”
