Add Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion to the list of Shaw-Award nominated public officials willing to oppose the MTA’s PR-friendly, obviously absurd, plan to placate angry New Yorkers by giving tourists discounts on the subway.

He’s joining fellow Shaw Award nominee John Liu today at City Hall to criticize the plan.

“Carrion and Liu will argue that weekend discounts will not benefit daily commuters who have already been forced to pay higher fares (25% increase for express bus services) while enduring a second-rate public transportation system,” the advisory says. Carrion Also Against Free Money
