It’s a poorly kept secret in Warren County politics that the Vice Chairwoman of the Republican county organization, Gloria Decker, and GOP Surrogate Susan Dickey have a rather intense dislike for each other. That may be the reason Decker decided to make a $100 cash contribution to Dickey’s Democratic opponent, Jim Swick. What Decker didn’t know is that new ELEC regulations require that all cash contributions — regardless of the amount — be reported. Sources say that Decker called the Democratic County Chairman Friday evening in an unsuccessful attempt to convince him not to report her donation. Too late — the 11-day report has already been filed.
