The Bloomberg campaign was so effective in drawing senior citizens in the rain to a campaign event on at the state office building on 125th Street this morning that Bill Perkins, the Democratic City Councilman, who has not endorsed Mike, but who works in the building, stopped in to say hello.
After a confrontation with Bloomberg aide Terence Tolbert, Perkins was allowed to speak briefly to the crowd.
The scene does seem to have been a reversal of the natural order. Mike as a draw in Harlem?
Perkins, who is backing Freddy, doesn’t think so.
“Seniors — they come for breakfast,” he said. “It’s not like they came out for Mike.”
