Sabato sayeth

Larry Sabato, a UVA professor and national political observer, was just on CNN talking about the NJ race (a little) and the Virginia contest (a lot). Here’s what he said about Corzine vs. Forrester: On Corzine using President Bush: “It’s working to a certain degree. New Jersey is a deeply blue Democratic state, so Corzine would have been a foolish candidate if he didn’t try to use Bush against his opponent. In that particular case, it’s going to be a big surprise if Corzine doesn’t win.” More: “If the Democrats can win in New Jersey, a blue state, and in Virginia, a red state, they’ll have a pretty good case that the Democrats may be in pretty good position for the 2006 elections.”
