Up or out for Andrews?

Rob Andrews is not likely to be a candidate for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006, according to several South Jersey Democratic sources. The 48-year-old Andrews, a Congressman since 1990, will either run for the United States Senate or give up his safe first district House seat to explore more lucrative private sector opportunities. If Andrews retires, the leading candidates for his seat are State Senator Stephen Sweeney, a labor leader who is also the Gloucester County Freeholder Director, and Assembly Budget Committee Chairman Louis Greenwald of Camden County.
