The Brooklyn Papers reports that someone has been paying “thousands” of nearby residents $100 each for participating in “dozens” of focus groups about Forest City Ratner’s Atlantic Yards complex that have the feel of push-polling.
If the number really is in the thousands, we have got to wonder why these things are called focus groups.
The paper got a recording of one session. Why aren’t they quoting from it?
UPDATE: An earlier version of this post erroneously said the fee was $1,000. That would have been rich.
