: She appeared on the scene a number of years ago…the newcomer soon managed to get around….from each of these men she would extract a token (large or small depending on your point of view) of their affection … say ten grand here or ten grand there…Marriage number two, however, was a kindly, well-liked man…the union moved her up the real estate ladder from condo to something co-operative…the younger, compliant, dutiful wife might make her availability and interest well-known to other males…a luxurious apartment in her name, provided by the tycoon, overlooking the Park…it was now many years after her arrival on these golden shores of Mammon and our girl was prosperous… She also had developed a career of her own, in the art world… our girl found herself answering a knock at the door (responding to a stranger bearing inquiry?) from a man (more than one?) who appeared seemingly from out of nowhere just as she was personally receiving a package–apparently NOT from out of nowhere, but from possibly some distant shore–of currency from these shores, in denominations that in aggregate piled up into six figures.
Page Six today
