March 17, 2006: Boycott? Again?

Many will march in the St. Patrick’s Day parade up 5th Avenue, but City Council Speaker Christine Quinn will not be in attendance as a compromise “that would allow LGBT Irish New Yorkers to march in a way that openly celebrates our heritage and identity” was not reached.

However, before boycotting, feel free to join the Irish community rallying for immigration reform at O’Neil’s Bar on 45th and 3rd–get there early though, festivities start at 9am.

[Don’t forget to send me event listings–preferably by the afternoon before it’s scheduled–and, if I’ve missed an event, stick it in the comments section to ensure that at least six people will see it.]
