The Roberts Dream Team

Assembly Speaker Joseph Roberts has assembled an formidable policy team since becoming Speaker in January: Dr. Hannah Shostack, a 22-year-veteran of the Office of Legislative Services with a Ph.D. from Princeton; Aaron Binder, a former Assistant Deputy Mayor of Philadelphia under Edward Rendell who has an M.A. from the Fels School at the University of Pennsylvania; Gina Laplaca, a former OLS attorney and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, whose great-grandfather, John Coyle, was a State Assemblyman from Hudson County; Nicole Brown, a former aide to U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy and attorney for the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University; and Karina Fuentes, also a New York University law school graduate, who worked at Sills Cummis before joining the Assembly staff. She is the daughter of Judge Julio Fuentes of the U.S. Court of Appeals.
