Planning in an Age of Disaster

This Friday, the Regional Plan Association’s annual Regional Assembly will be held at the Waldorf, titled “Come What May: Planning in an Age of Disaster.” It will focus on New York’s preparedness for natural and man-made disasters.

The highlights of the event, or so says the press release, will include Eliot Spitzer unveiling his transportation agenda in the keynote address; Tom Suozzi, Anthony Weiner and Port Authority Chairman Anthony Coscia discussing the measures being taken to protect the region; and vulnerabilities in the transit system and lessons learned from the London train bombings.

According to the schedule, Eliot gets about 30 minutes for the keynote, while Tom shares 90 minutes with Weiner and Coscia on the plenary panel.
