Hirshey Blogging on the World Cup

Blogging at Deadspin, editor/soccermeister David Hirshey, a sportswriter in a previous life, picks England, Argentina, Brazil and Italy for the finals. No surprises—though he gets off a couple good (rim)shots:

Hirshey is already catching heat on his blog for calling it “soccer.” Definition? Wikipedia says, “The term soccer first appeared in the 1880s as a slang abbreviation of Association football, often credited to Charles Wreford-Brown”—Brit and amateur sportsman.
