It didn’t take very long for the Team Booker’s first problem

Just hours after the votes were counted in the Runoff elections for Newark City Council, there was already some dissension among the nine allies of Mayor-elect Cory Booker who will serve together for the next four years. Councilman-At-Large Luis Quintana, one of two incumbents to win re-election, has made no secret of his desire to become Council President, but sources within the Booker campaign says that Mildred Crump, who won back the At-Large Council seat she gave up to challenge Sharpe James for Mayor in 1998, wants the job too. Quintana would become Newark’s first Latino Council President, while Crump would be the first woman to hold the post.
