REBNY v. Mitchell-Lama

The Villager reports that the Real Estate Board of New York’s suit against Local Law 79 (the Mitchell-Lama preservation ordinance) is “awaiting a decision.” The law, REBNY charges, violates landlord’s private property rights since it forces them to offer to sell their Mitchell-Lama buildings to tenants if they decide to take them out of rent-regulation.
