20% Approval for the Kean/Stender Legislature

The Legislature’s upside down 20%-71% approval rating won’t help two legislators running for federal office this year: Republican State Senator Thomas H. Kean, Jr., who is running for the United States Senate, and Democratic Assemblywoman Linda Stender, who is a candidate for Congress in the seventh district. Analysis from one prominent talking head: “Kean will harp about how he is fighting the good fight re taxes, the budget, need to fight waste/coruption etc., and say that this number shows profound discontent with the Democrats in power who Menendez supports. Stender wants to stand with fellow Dems on social issues, but if I were Ferguson, every time she complains about Washington, I’d say that she’s ‘responsible’ for a bigger mess in Trenton — ‘Show that you can clean that up first before inflicting your policy views on the nation and the state.’ Geez, she was MIA last week.”
