GOP watchdog says Stender’s husband won county printing jobs

The husband of Assemblywoman Linda Stender has won lucrative printing contracts with Union County, even though his company was not the lowest bidder, according to Tina Renna, a Republican who who emerged as the premier county government watchdog. Renna alleges that Richard Stender won two contracts to print the Union County Alliance’s two newsletters even though his price was $20,000 more than the next highest bidder. Stender, a former Union County Freeholder, is the Democratic candidate for Congress in the seventh district. Renna runs a blog, The County Watchers, which concentrates on Union County government.
