“Relationships Yield Results.”
That’s the official motto of the soon-to-be Senate Minority Leader, Malcolm Smith.
It does not, presumably, refer to the issue of same-sex marriages, which should be on the table in Albany next year.
Smith, who represents a church-going district in southeast Queens, is a member of the Senate judiciary committee, where the bill to legalize same sex marriage has been buried. Smith never sponsored the legislation and his position on the issue is not widely known.
So far, calls to his office haven’t yielded any satisfactory results.
Anybody know anything about his position?
And note: Hours after Smith announces his leadership post tomorrow, the state’s largest gay lobby, the Empire State Pride Agenda, hosts their annual Fall Dinner.
