This Thursday, City Council Majority Leader Joel Rivera is hosting a fund-raiser on City Island to celebrate his 28th birthday.
It’s an annual event (the fund-raiser, not just the birthday), but since Rivera is going to be term-limited out of the council in 2009, the very act of hustling for donations begins to take on a new significance.
What, one may reasonably ask, is Rivera raising money for?
According to a senior advisor, it’s for an underdetermined race to be funded by his Rivera 2009 committee.
Proving once again that it gets late early when you’re on the city council.
