DEMETRIA: I’m in charge of our wedding ceremony and Josh has other responsibilities, like plane flights and hotels. So I was pleasantly surprised when he made a really thoughtful suggestion. I’m African American and he’s Jewish, so he came up with the idea of jumping the broom (an African American tradition) and breaking the glass (a Jewish tradition). At the conclusion of the ceremony, we will jump over the broom (with the color coordinated bow) and land on the glass. Brilliant! I love the idea. Josh is so smart. The wedding is seven months away and I haven’t planned out every detail yet, but I see it really clearly (in about three basic variations).
