This weekend, the Post reported that criminal probe is “getting much larger,” and will include an investigation into Hevesi’s chief of staff Jack Chartier, who is suspected of using state employees as drivers for actress Peggy Lipton.

Whether Chartier is merely being used as leverage against Hevesi or has become a high-value target himself, the news seems to be a deliberate signal from the prosecutor that this investigation isn’t going away anytime soon.
