Deal of the Year

Last night, The Bond Buyer — “the daily newspaper of public finance published by SourceMedia” — gave its Deal of the Year Award to the New York City Industrial Development Agency for the city’s $1.59 billion bond sale to pay for new stadiums for the Mets and Yankees.

The plan “best met the criteria for selection in terms of its technical prowess and structure,” Editor in Chief Nicholas Chesla said.

So after the spectacular failure of their last stadium plan, here’s more evidence that the city largely got this one right.
