Whenever it is that Hillary Clinton announces for 2008, she’ll have the enthusiastic backing of Emily’s List, according to this report. Their capacity for raising money, for anyone who doesn’t know, is nearly unparalleled in the progressive universe, putting that much more distance between Hillary and everyone else in terms of sheer organizational might.
Meanwhile, the other guy, Barack Obama, is bringing more staffers on board his undeclared presidential campaign, according to the same column in the Chicago Sun-Times [second item].
After noting that David Plouffe and David Axelrod are in Obama’s corner, the paper goes on to say:
“Two other people are on deck for Obama 2008, Devorah Adler, the Democratic National Committee research director, and Shauna Daly, its deputy director. They are positioned to take on similar roles in the Obama camp.”
It’s worth noting that the hires are both out of the DNC, whose leadership has come under fierce criticism from at least one of Clinton’s well-known supporters.
