U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg is still New Jersey’s most popular Democrat. With a 44%-32% approval rating, most groups of voters prefer Lautenberg to Governor Jon Corzine and U.S. Senator Robert Menendez. The 83-year-old senior Senator, who plans to seek re-election to a fifth term in 2008, has approvals of 58%-15% among Democrats, 45%-31% among Independents, and 28%-56% among Republicans. His approvals are 49%-33% among men and 39%-31% among women.
