You couldn’t quite hear the mocking laughter as Joe Bruno explained what exactly happened to Sheldon Silver during the comptroller selection process, but it was pretty clearly understood.
Here’s Bruno’s take from a press conference moments ago:
“Shelly heard the governor say five to be reported. The governor said he said ‘up to five.’ If it’s up to five, then you’re going to pick from the three.”
And what was Bruno’s understanding of the deal?
“I’m still trying to figure out what I heard.”
