Big name joins Monmouth Freeholder race

The race for control of the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders has attracted a marquis name on the Democratic side: John D’Amico, Jr. D’Amico served as an Oceanport Councilman, and two-term Monmouth County Freeholder in the 1980’s. He won a December 1988 Special Election Convention for State Senator when Frank Pallone was elected to Congress, and lost a November 1989 Special Election to Republican Joseph Palaia. The 66-year-old D'Amico, a graduate of Harvard University and Harvard Law School, spent ten years as a Superior Court Judge, and nearly four years as the Chairman of the New Jersey Parole Board.
