Goodwin, Bushman are leading GOP candidates in 14

Republicans will run Hamilton Township Councilman Thomas Goodwin and former Jamesburg Councilman Adam Bushman for the Assembly in the 14th district. Goodwin was the top vote-getter in the '05 Council race, when Republicans won three seats and took control, ousting a Democratic incumbent by more than 3,000 votes. Bushman, 43, was an Army officer in Afghanistan and has made some unsuccessful bids for higher office. They will seek support at the Mercer County GOP convention tonight.

Democratic Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein is expected to seek re-election to a fifth term and would be the favorite to win. Democrats had been unable agree upon a challenger to GOP Assemblyman Bill Baroni, but that is likely to change now that it is a contest for an open seat.
