More budget pessimism in Albany…
Malcolm Smith, the Democratic Senate Minority Leader, didn’t sound too optimistic about getting a state budget on time. During an interview he taped with Channel 4 today, airing Sunday, Smith said:
If we pass Monday, that’s it, we’re going to be in pretty bad shape and you’re looking at a late budget. And then if the governor chooses just to go ahead and deal with essential services, you know, the other part of big government will shut down.
