One of the contributing factors toward the decision of Burlington County Republicans to dump Assemblyman Larry Chatzidakis was his refusal to reschedule his vacation to Greece last summer. Chatzidakis was away during the shutdown of state government, and missed the budget vote.
Chatzidakis' weakness, and State Senator Martha Bark's ethics woes, helped Republicans decide to simply change the entire eighth district delegation: Assemblyman Francis Bodine also lost his bid for party support for another term.
But now the lame duck legislator is trying to close his career by passing some landmark legislation: is bill to require state offices to switch incandescent lightbulbs to energy-efficient fluorescents will be considered by an Assembly committee on Monday.
