Supporters of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards will meet at the Starbucks on Route 70 in Cherry Hill tonight. In New Jersey, Edwards has the backing of Acting Governor Richard Codey.
From Edwards supporter Michael Martin of Haddonfield:
On Friday evening, a group of grassroots John Edwards supporters met in Cherry Hill at a local Starbucks to discuss campaign strategies, voter outreach, and fundraising efforts . This Camden County One Corps meeting was coordinated by Cherry Hill-based attorney Sterling Rauf, who has been working with the national Edwards campaign out of North Carolina. The group consensus was that Edwards is the “most electable” Democratic candidate and that his attention to the middle class, poverty, universal health care, the environment, and other core issues made him stand out amongst the Democratic field. The several OneCorps (Edwards online communities) organizations in the state may coordinate their meetings. Edwards, who consistently leads in polls of visitors on the progressive blog Blue Jersey, has already visited the state once and has received the endorsement of several New Jersey politicians, including Acting Governor Dick Codey, who serves as his New Jersey campaign co-chair.
