11 a.m. The New York City Anarchist Book Fair will be held at Judson Memorial Church, 55 Washington Square South.

Noon. A global warming rally will be held at Battery Park, State Street and Battery Place. After the rally, thousands of participants dressed in blue will stretch along a projected “future sea level” line from Pearl Street to the east and Greenwich Street to the west.

1 p.m. Former Rep. Major Owens will attend a town meeting event sponsored by CONGLOW, a city problem and issue action group, at St. Francis School, Eastern Parkway and Classon Avenue in Brooklyn. Candidates running for election for the 40th Council District will speak briefly at 3:30 p.m. The election is scheduled for April 24.

1 p.m. Zimbabwe supporters will hold a rally at the Harlem state Office Building, 125th Street and Adam C. Powell, Jr. Boulevard.

1 p.m. Tenants rally against evictions at 47 East 3rd Street.

2 p.m. Ninth annual Tartan Day Parade will proceed down Sixth Avenue from 44th Street to 58th Street.

2 p.m. People saved by organ and tissue transplants will celebrate at the 12th Annual “Remember and Rejoice”Ecumenical Service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Fifth Avenue and 50th Street.

3:30 p.m. Arianna Huffington will speak at the Omega Institute’s annual “Being Fearless” conference at the Sheraton New York, 811 Seventh Avenue at 53rd Street.

6 p.m. New York City police officers will join cancer survivors at the American Cancer Society’s third annual Relay For Life at the New Balance Track & Field Center, 216 Fort Washington Avenue between 168th and 169th streets.

8 a.m. Representative Kirsten Gillibrand will keynote the New York League of Conservation Voters’s annual Capital District Eco-Breakfast; honoring the Galesi Group; Jerry Cosgrove, Deputy Commissioner of New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets; and John Hedley at the Fort Orange Club, 110 Washington Avenue, in Albany.

10 a.m. The Senate Standing Committee on Consumer Protection and Assembly Standing Committee on Consumer Affairs and Protection will hold a public meeting to examine the billing, marketing and disclosure practices of the credit card industry, and their impact on consumers at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.
