Edward Trawinski and Bill Thomson, part of opposing factions in the 2006 Bergen County Republican primary, are leading a grassroots effort to remove Guy Talarico as Bergen County GOP Chairman. Their committee, "Anybody but Guy" are circulating petitions seeking Talarico's ouster, an full accounting of BCRO finances, and an open convention process to pick candidates in all districts.
"This effort is not about ideology," says Trawinski, a Fair Lawn Councilman who held high level positions in the Kean administration. "It is about the failure of Guy Talarico to give the people of Bergen County a choice as a result of his failed leadership. Personally, we both like Guy but imagine how long Joe Torre would survive if he lost as much and as consitently as Guy."
Thomson is the former head of the New Jersey Christian Coalition. His wife ran unsuccessfully for Freeholder in 2006.
