The turmoil among Republicans in Bergen County continues to get worse. The GOP organization candidates for Freeholder — Robert Yudin, Paul Duggan and Charles Kahwaty – filed individual, separate nominating petitions — which means that there could be no draw for them as a slate. Their names were drawn individually for ballot position. No BCRO representatives attended yesterday's ballot draw.
The problem here is that without joint Freeholder candidates, BCRO doesn't have aline because they have no column of their own. That means that the rival slate — headed by State Senate candidate Kevin O'Toole — which filed Freeholder candidates on a joint position, automatically received column 1.
