More than nine out of ten New Jerseyans say Gov. Jon Corzine should be ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt and nealy half believe he should pay his own medical bills, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WABC-TV in New York and WCAU-TV in Philadelphia. 83% say that State Trooper Robert Rasinski should not have allowed Corzine to write without his seatbelt, and 85% say it was "not justifiable" for Rasinski to be driving at 91 miles per hour.
But only 14% say that Rasinski should lose his job; 47% say the Trooper should receive a speeding ticket, and 32% believe he should be reprimaded. Just 7% of New Jersey residents say nothing should happen to Rasinski, according to the poll.
