Cunningham? I Just Met Him!

TUESDAY, MAY 22nd: There’s a big swanky auction of classical and contemporary photographs at Chelsea’s Swann Galleries today. Artwork by Diane Arbus, Herb Ritts, Robert Mapplethorpe, Imogen Cunningham and Irving Penn will be up for grabs. Bring cash—in a suitcase! Over at the Hammerstein Ballroom, Gen Art Styles hosts an award show where finalists culled from over 800 submissions will battle for $35,000. Anyone else think that Bravo better hurry up and get Project Runway back on the air, tout de suite? And hipster trust-fund dopes, we haven’t forgotten you! Dan Bern will perform at Southpaw in Brooklyn tonight. His latest album is described thusly: It “isn’t music with ‘big balls’—it’s music with a big, beating heart.” Sweetheart, any fool knows that music with big balls is what music is all about! (See: Stones, Rolling, 1962-present.)
