Kuehner seeks internet access of government records

Egg Harbor City Mayor Joe Kuehner, the Democratic candidate for State Assembly in the second district, has launched a statewide campaign to get public records accessible under OPRA laws posted online. He says he wants New Jerseyans to easily find public records using well-known search engines.

"This initiative is forthe taxpayers," Kuehner said. "They have every right to know what's happening in their government – from how their tax money is being spent, to the salaries of every public employee, to development proposals being considered by planning and zoning boards.Whetherat thestate level in Trenton or in our own backyards in municipalities like Egg Harbor City, the citizens have a right to know what their government is doing €” especially since they are paying for it already."
