Robert Menendez has been named Vice Chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee for the 2008 election cycle — positioning him to succeed Charles Schumer in the leadership post in two years. “Bob Menendez was one of the most respected members of the House and has already proven to be a leader in the Senate,” Schumer said. “He has been a fighter for what is right his entire life and effective in achieving it. He has one of the best political minds in the Congress, and we’re happy to have him on board.”
