To the Editor:
In Chris Lehmann’s review of A Woman in Charge: The Life of Hillary Rodham Clinton [“Our Listening Tour,” June 4], he writes of the “dispiriting policy record of the Clinton years.”
What Mr. Lehmann doesn’t seem to understand is that most Americans regard the Clinton Presidency as a golden era, when they enjoyed unparalleled peace and prosperity. During the Clinton era the unemployment rate declined and average income increased for all Americans, not just for the wealthy.
One of the reasons that Hillary is the Democratic party front-runner is that she is running for Bill’s third term.
