No surprise here. Both Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani are their parties’ leading candidates to win the Garden State’s primary, while Bush's approval rating has plunged to new depths, according to a Strategic Vision poll released today.
The company surveyed 800 likely New Jersey voters.
Giuliani and Clinton both show huge leads over their opponents. Forty-eight percent of Republican respondents said they would support Giuliani in the Republican primary, versus 15 percent for Fred Thompson, the next most popular Republican. Clinton garnered 46 percent from Democrats, against Barack Obama’s 20 percent. Giuliani’s numbers are essentially the same as the last Strategic Vision poll, which was taken in April, while Clinton’s lead over Obama has increased significantly.
Bush’s approval rating among New Jersey voters sunk to a mind-numbingly low 18 percent, down from 24 percent in the last poll. The congressional approval rating is even lower, however, at 16 percent.
