8:30 a.m. Building Owners and Managers Association will announce a sustainable energy plan for the commercial real estate industry at Hearst Tower, 300 West 57th Street.

10 a.m. The City Council will have a Contracts Committee hearing, an Education Committee hearing and Land Use Committee hearing at City Hall.

11 a.m. The American Cancer Society will honor store owners for their efforts to combat youth tobacco use at 10 Richmond Terrace in Staten Island.

11 a.m. US PIRG will release an analysis of government climate data showing warmer-than-normal weather in 2006 at Columbus Circle.

12:30 p.m. Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum and others tour the midtown area affected by the steam pipe explosion, starting at the corner of 43rd Street and 3rd Avenue (added).

12:30 p.m. Latino delivery workers will announce a lawsuit against a restaurant for minimum wage violations at Flor de Mayor Restaurant, 484 Amsterdam Avenue between 83rd and 84th streets.
