Another Paterson housing inspector pleaded guilty today to taking bribes.
Elisa Griffin, a 39-year-old caseworker for a Paterson Section 8 program, took $1,900 from a property manager who turned out to be an FBI informant. In exchange for the payments, she agreed to steer tenants towards the informant’s apartments, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Griffin was one of 14 officials and employees from Paterson and Passaic who were arrested earlier this year on corruption charges involving the Section 8 program. She is scheduled to be sentenced in December and faces up to 10 years in prison.
