Congratulations to Republican State Chairman Tom Wilson, who came from behind to score a second place finish in a PoliticsNJ.com online poll to pick New Jersey's best State Party Chairman. After trailing most of the day, Wilson had a late surge and edged out Edward "Weedman" Forchion, who runs the Legalize Marijuana Party of South Jersey by a narrow 21%-19% margin. Democratic State Chairman Joseph Cryan finished first in the field of eight candidates with 46%.
Yesterday's victory in the race for second place marks a political comeback of sorts for Wilson, who lost a June online poll that allowed readers to pick the 100th person on PoliticsNJ.com's list of the 100 Most Powerful People in New Jersey Politics. Atlantic City radio show host Harry Hurley defeated Wilson by a 35%-15% margin.
