Binn there, done that: Get out your English Patient evening gowns, ladies! The Red Cross is somewhat oxymoronically throwing an “Evening of Luxury” charity benefit in East Hampton. On the committee: Epic Records head honcho Charlie Walk, ubiquitous magazine publisher Jason Binn and their charming wives. Down the road in Bridgehampton, meanwhile, you’ll find an “On Our Toes” fund-raiser for Evidence, a Dance Company (“combines hip-hop, ballet and modern dance techniques to create this amazing dance experience,” a rep told us). In the crowd: Debra Lee, head of BET, Dick Parsons, Sherry Bronfman, Danny Glover and Jennifer Holliday (one of the original Dreamgirls; less annoying than Andre Leon Talley’s BFF Jennifer Hudson, one hopes). “It’s the second-biggest African-American Hamptons benefit of the summer!” excitedly said the rep—so expect a lot of white folks pretending to be “down with it.” M.C.-ing the evening for the second consecutive year will be Rene Syler, formerly of The Early Show and occasional guest co-host of The View. “These people can dance like nobody’s business,” Ms. Syler said. “And there’s also something about being out there in the open air and watching these wonderful dancers perform. …” Where does she crash? “I don’t have a place out there, but I have friends with places out there.” Don’t we all, honey, don’t we all …
