Should McQueeny host Power & Politics while he’s advising Lautenberg?

PoliticsNJ.com media blogger Debbie Borie-Holtz has a tough, but fair, column up today on the many hats of the multi-talented Jim McQueeny. There is no doubt that McQueeny is a key member of U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg’s political team, and has been for more than two decades.

When Lautenberg came out of retirement in 2002 to run for the U.S. Senate in a five-week campaign, McQueeny took a leave of absence from his gig at News 12 New Jersey, where he hosts the weekly Power & Politics show.

Now that Lautenberg is running for re-election, and since McQueeny has been actively participating in Lautenberg campaign strategy sessions, it raises an interesting point: when should McQueeny take another leave from his News 12 post?
