In another sign that the Democratic Congressional Committee seriously eyeing U.S. Rep. Jim Saxton’s seat , the group put out a press release today criticizing Saxton for not protesting President Bush’s threatened veto of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
“Representative Jim Saxton receives health care at taxpayers' expense, but he and President Bush are trying to block access to affordable, quality health care to 11 million uninsured American children," said DCCC Communications Director Jennifer Crider.
Saxton’s spokesman, Jeff Sagnip, could not immediately be reached for comment.
The DCCC recently met with state Sen. John Adler to talk about the prospect of him running against Saxton in 2008. The organization thinks that Saxton's seat could be vulnerable, although he beat Democrat Rich Sexton by 17 points in 2006.
